We've hatched chicks

Thanks to BEES UK we have had the pleasure to hatch chicks. They provided us with all the necessary equipment to be able to do so. On Monday 4th March the eggs were delivered to us and put straight into an incubator. These eggs had already been incubated for 14 days which meant that we had 7 days before the chicks would hatch.

On 11th March, day 21 we had a hatched chick. They had to stay in the incubator for 24 hours after hatching before they were transferred to the brooder. This was so they could dry off.

The children enjoyed the experience of waiting for the eggs to hatch and then watching the chicks grow and even getting to hold them.
