Pennywell farm

We have had an amazing day visiting Pennywell Farm, even if it was raining. The children got to see and touch the animals, have a Christmas biscuit and even visit the big man himself, Father Christmas. After lunch the children were invited to take part in the Nativity show and got the chance to dress up. We had nursery children dressed as Mary, Innkeepers, Angels and shepherds. Mary even got the chance to ride on a donkey.
Once the day was over we climbed back on to the coach where many children fell to sleep after a very exciting day.

Decoration Day

Today we have had a fantastic Christmas Decorations Day!

The unit was definitely in the Christmas spirit with all the Christmas activities available and it was great to see so many parents and carers come in and join us.

The activities involved the children and adults making snowmen, paper chains, Christmas crackers, reindeer food, stockings, baubles, father Christmas faces and Christmas cakes just to name a few.

Adults enjoyed mince pies and listening to Christmas songs to get us in the festive mood.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The Nursery is looking very christmassy with a child decorated tree. The children loved decorating the tree with tinsel and baubles whilst bobbing around to Christmas music.

I think our Nursery tree looks amazing.

This week we have been developing our puzzle skills. All children have worked really hard at completing a range of puzzles from Inset to 16 piece jigsaws.

Literacy Day

Thank you to those adults that came to our Literacy Day. We arrange these days to provide you with the knowledge of what we do in the Nursery to help your children with their literacy skills and how you can help at home.

Nursery Rhyme Day

We had a fantastic day dressed up as our favourite Nursery Rhyme Characters. There were lots of great activities such as making finger puppet mice, spider hats, cotton reel printing sheep, Humpty Dumpty number match.  We sang all day long and really enjoyed guessing what we were dressed as.

We had Incy Wincy Spider, 10 in the bed, Little Miss Muffet, 5 Little ducks, wheels on the bus to name a few.

This week we have been looking at Space and planets.

We learnt a song that told us the planets names and what made them special.

Look at our aliens we made using our hand prints.
