World Book Day 2019

Its World Book Day and we have been taken over by pirates!
We have enjoyed our day with stories, pirate dancing and even a treasure hunt for our stolen Mobious.
Whilst we were out playing, some naughty pirates came into our classroom and made a BIG mess. They stole Mobious our teddy that read us a book and left us a letter which told us we had to follow clues in order to find him. We followed all the clues and finally found Mobious on the trim trail but he was nearly eaten by a shark. Our very own pirate Billy was very brave and helped us to save Mobious from the shark.

What a great day we had

Exploring our new fire pit and the surrounding area

We went to explore our new fire pit and bug house area today. This area has been built by university students and looks amazing. We have willow tunnels that we can walk through and a beautiful area were we sat and had hot chocolate and marshmallows. The fire pit was not lit today but we will be doing that another day.
We looked around the bug house and hope that next time, there will be lots of different bugs living inside.

Chinese New Year!

For Chinese New Year 'Year of the Pig' we ate Chinese food such as noodles, rice, sweet and sour sauce, fortune cookies and prawn crackers. We tried using chop sticks, writing our name in Chinese writing, making Chinese envelopes, painting blossom trees and dressing up in Chinese outfits.
We have looked at what our zodiac sign is and we have made our own dragon masks.

Visit from Santa

Today the children got a visit from the big man himself ................................ SANTA!
They were all very very excited when they heard his bells and saw him walking through the door. They each went and spoke to him, telling him what they would like for Christmas and whether they had been good or bad this year, which they ALL had been good :)

Pennywell farm

We have had an amazing day visiting Pennywell Farm, even if it was raining. The children got to see and touch the animals, have a Christmas biscuit and even visit the big man himself, Father Christmas. After lunch the children were invited to take part in the Nativity show and got the chance to dress up. We had nursery children dressed as Mary, Innkeepers, Angels and shepherds. Mary even got the chance to ride on a donkey.
Once the day was over we climbed back on to the coach where many children fell to sleep after a very exciting day.

Decoration Day

Today we have had a fantastic Christmas Decorations Day!

The unit was definitely in the Christmas spirit with all the Christmas activities available and it was great to see so many parents and carers come in and join us.

The activities involved the children and adults making snowmen, paper chains, Christmas crackers, reindeer food, stockings, baubles, father Christmas faces and Christmas cakes just to name a few.

Adults enjoyed mince pies and listening to Christmas songs to get us in the festive mood.
